Obituary

Helen Ann Cornish

August 19, 1938 – May 30, 2026

Helen Ann “Toots” Cornish, born August 19, 1938, in Pennsylvania, lived a life rooted in faith, family, and simple joys. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (GG), sister, and friend whose warmth and spirit touched all who knew her.

Helen married the love of her life, Eugene W. “Gene” Cornish, on September 27, 1958, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and dedication. She attended St. Benedict’s Catholic High School, where she began cultivating the strong faith that would remain a cornerstone of her life.

Helen found happiness in life’s pleasures—she loved golfing, dancing, and playing poker, always bringing laughter and a lively presence to those around her. Her faith was strong and guided her throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Cornish; her parents, W.J. Haas and Helen Haas; her grandsons, Brandon Hanna and Jordan Emerson; and her brother, Norbert “Norb” Haas.

Helen is survived by her three brothers, Will, Bud, and Paul Haas. She leaves behind a large and loving family: her daughter Ann and husband Mike, along with their children Courtney and John; her son Billy and his wife Wong; her daughter Monica and husband Brent, and their sons Kyle and Logan; her daughter Deanna and her husband Rick, and Deanna’s daughter Kristin; her daughter Vickie and her children Stormy, Blake, and Darrell; and her son Will and his wife Amy, and their children Lexi and Luke.

She will also be lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren who knew her as “GG”: Audrey, Abby, Ezra, Tucker, Jackson, Lane, and step great-grandchildren, Harper, Maddox, and Milam.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Autumn Leaves, Aspen Hospice Care, and Ramsey Funeral Home for their compassionate care and support.

Helen’s legacy is one of love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
