Helen E. (Sis) Brooks born on July 29th, 1922, in Salem Ohio, to Roland E. Knepper and Irene McConner Knepper, passed away peacefully at her home in Wesleyan Assisted Living, Georgetown, Texas, on February 1, 2025.  She went to meet her Lord in peace knowing she would be reunited with family and friends.

Raised in a loving and caring family, Helen graduated from high school and began nursing training.  During World War II, she married her sweetheart William D. Brooks, Jr.  Her married-life adventure began when he returned from the war and decided to pursue his flying career in the then Army Air Force,  They were assigned to numerous military bases with the most memorable cities being Mountain Home, Idaho, Madrid, Spain, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Riverside, California, Shreveport, Louisiana, Tucson, Arizona,  and Omaha, Nebraska.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, whose greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and friends. A stay-at-home mother, she loved to ice skate, cook, sew, play golf and bridge, and volunteer on numerous military, civilian and church committees. She was a devout Christian and active church member supporting her beloved Sea Island Presbyterian Church in Beaufort, South Carolina where they had retired after the Air Force.

After her husband's death, she eventually moved to Centennial, Colorado to be nearer to family with eventual move to Georgetown Texas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill, and husband William.

Her loving family has been blessed to have her in their lives.  She is survived by two sons Jon Brooks and Roger Brooks;  daughters-in-law Sandra Brooks and Janet Brooks; four grandchildren:  Kimberly Granger Bill Brooks, Mike Brooks and Kristin Brooks; and eight great grandchildren;  Jordan Granger, Brennan Granger, Adam Brooks, Brendan Brooks, Ashley Barwick, Aaron Brooks, Evan Velazquez and Abby Velazquez.

A Celebration of Life for Helen will be held in Salem, Ohio, with a following internment at the Grandview Cemetery at a date to be determined in early Spring.
