Obituary

Harold H. Ramm, 100 of Florence, Texas passed away on February 07, 2022 in Temple, Texas.

Harold was born on July 24, 1921 to Herman E. and Ethel May (Wells) Ramm. He was one of four children and began working at an early age.  Harold joined the Army during World War II and served in the Philippines for three and a half years with the 85 th Chemical Mortar Battalion.  He saw his first combat at Guadalcanal. He received numerous Arrowheads for numerous first landings, the first being the attack at Guadalcanal as well as others as his battalion moved throughout the Philippines.

Mr. Ramm married Lily Pearl (Tommie) Herbert on February 21, 1946 in Killeen Texas. They were married for sixty-nine years before her death on January 03, 2016. Mr. Ramm's work ethic and his desire to provide for his family led him to hold a variety of jobs including being a cook, a loading dockworker, and an airplane mechanic. Harold Ramm decided to use his GI Bill to buy property in Florence that he farmed and ranched. He supplemented his family's income by serving as a truck driver, carpenter, and homebuilder.  Mr. Ramm continued to work at various jobs throughout his life. He and his loving wife, Tommie, owned and operated the Lot-O- Burger in Killeen, Texas as well as Harold's Grocery, Harold's Bar-B-Que, and Harold's Furniture in Florence, Texas. Mr. Ramm retired as a Land Developer in Florence, Texas in 2017 at the age of 96.

Survivors include his sons Dr. Harold "Spooky" Ramm of Belton, Texas and Howard (Marcie) Ramm of Athens, Texas; grandchildren-Dr. Jason (Naomi) Ramm of Salado, Texas, Tara (Derrick) Robinson of Sour Lake, Texas, Jarrett (Stacey) Ramm of Florence, Texas, Cody Ramm of Jacksonville, Florida, Cassie (Bryce) Dunnam of Georgetown, Texas; great-grandchildren-Caleb Ramm, Colby Ramm, Cami Robinson, Sophie Robinson, Jarrett, Jr. "JJ" Ramm, Jade Ramm, Lily Dunnam.
