Obituary

Glenn "Neil" Morrison, age 65, passed away on September 28, 2026, at his ranch in Florence, Texas. He was born on December 2, 1960, in Montrose, Colorado, to Glenn and Mary Morrison. He grew up in Hemet, California, and attended high school in Fruita, Colorado. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.

On June 23, 1984, Neil married the love of his life, Susan Jean Rogers, in Dumas, Texas. They spent over 40 great years together, building a life around their families and teaching careers. Their deep partnership was filled with mutual support, devotion to God, and shared joy in every season of life. He was an avid adventurer, and cherished spending summer breaks traveling the country with his family and marveling at the splendor of God's creation.

Neil worked as an educator for Mansfield High School for over 30 years and touched countless lives in the process. He was a wonderful teacher, tutor, mentor, and coach to everyone he came in contact with. Whether he was breaking down a complicated calculus problem, coaching an emerging tennis star, or teaching an inexperienced kid how to drive, his patience and kindness always shone through. During the final years of his teaching career, he found an even greater opportunity to give back by serving at a juvenile detention center; regardless of what brought a youth there, he consistently treated every child with equal care, attention, and respect. Yet above all, his remarkable strength lay in leading and teaching through personal example. The way he lived made it clear to both students and colleagues that he held a deep, unshakeable faith.

Neil lived a aman guided by his devotion to God. Driven by a passion to share Christ's love, he consistently embodied the very principles he taught. Combining his devotion to Christ with his passion for teaching, he embarked on several mission trips to Peru to share the gospel with those in need. His radiant joy and infectious positivity uplifted everyone around him, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Neil is survived by his spouse, Susan; his children, Kimberly (spouse Jake) and Ty (spouse Kara); his siblings, Lalene, Eileen, and Kevin; his grandchildren, Kate and Rose; as well as a large extended family who cherished him deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Mary.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 6 at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church of Florence, Texas.
