Gail Ann
Huinker
March 27, 1947 – July 11, 2024
Gail Ann Huinker, nee Edwards, was born on March 27,1947, in Springfield, Ohio and passed away on July 11, 2024, in Georgetown, Texas at the age of 77.
Growing up in Los Angels, Gail graduated from Franklin High School, she became a dedicated homemaker, having three children with her first husband, named Buck, Karie, and Steven. She had her son Jeff with her second husband. Gail was the epitome of a good housekeeper, a master seamstress, party planner, dancer music lover and beach enthusiast. Gail had a deep love for animals especially her beloved dogs. She was preceded in death by her four Maltese dogs, Chase, Sunny, Harley, and Bear
Gail's grace and style were admired by many, and she even owned her own clothing store, showcasing her impeccable fashion sense. She was always at the forefront of the latest trends in hair, makeup, and fashion. She supported her family as a personal mobile hairdresser while her third husband built an oil company.
After living in Florida, Texas, California and Hawaii, Gail retired in 1991. She enjoyed playing tennis, achieving a high ranking in competitive play. Gail's sense of humor and storytelling were larger than life, (the scary Easter Bunny comes to mind) leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met, as a quote from the movie Big Fish by Daniel Wallace aptly Captures:
"We all have stories, just as you do. Ways in which he touched us, helped us, gave us money, sold it to us wholesale. Lots of stories, big and small. They all add up. Over a lifetime, it all adds up. That's why we're here, William. We're a part of him. Who he is, just as he is part of us, you still don't understand, do you? I didn't. But as I stared at the man, and he stared back at me in my father's dream, I'd remembered where we'd met before. And what did my father do for you? I asked him, the old man smiled. He made me laugh."
Gail is preceded in death by her parents Jacquetta Edwards, John (Jack) Edwards, her brother, Duffy Edwards, and Her son Steve Houck.
She is survived by her children, Buck Houck (spouse Jamie) Karie Houck (partner Steven) and Jeff Spencer., her Siblings, Joe Edwards, Pat Edwards, Marty Edwards, and Colleen Edwards (spouse Randy) and her lifelong friend of more than 65 years, and Godmother to her children, Cathy Boggs.
Gail Loved her grandchildren, Taylor, Nick, Shannon, Brad, Sydnie, and Reagan, who will miss her dearly. Gail was very close to her nieces and nephew, Casey, Justin, Sunny, Colleen, and Sara.
Gail didn't like the idea of a funeral. Instead, she requested that her family have a party including, taquitos, music, love, laughter and, in her words, lots of dancing. Her wishes will be granted in the fall by her family.
Gail's life, filled with style, grace and a zest for life, will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
