Frieda Louise
Kralis
September 26, 1937 – February 13, 2026
Frieda Louise Kralis, 88, passed away peacefully in Georgetown, Texas, on February 13, 2026.
Visitation and recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 6pm to 8pm at Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Dr., Georgetown, Texas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 10am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2700 E. University Ave., also in Georgetown.
Frieda was born to Jenny and Everett Benson on September 26, 1937 in Paris, Illinois. She grew up as a Midwestern girl but relocated with her family to the Dallas suburb of Richardson, Texas in 1975.
Frieda and her family adapted quickly to life in Texas, making new friends, enjoying outdoor sports, and the milder winters. Frieda was a natural beauty and as a young woman, she modeled professionally in Chicago, often featured in newspaper and magazine ads for several local stores. She always carried herself with grace and poise while being perfectly and fashionably coordinated, from head to toe. She loved fashion and when she got to Texas, she loved shopping in the big Texas malls looking for beautiful clothes. When all remember Frieda, a common description consistently mentioned includes the phrase "She was a pistol." Everyone that knew her had a "Frieda story." From her family, and childhood friends, to her cousins and everyone else that came in contact with her, they all enjoy sharing their "Frieda stories". While she had moved from the Midwest as a young adult, she never stopped staying connected with her long-time Midwestern friends and people she considered her extended family. Frieda was an extremely loyal friend, maintaining childhood friendships for over 70 years, staying in touch regularly with friends from all over the country. Her sons and grandchildren, as well as her extended family, including nieces, nephews, and long-time friends brought her so much joy. She also loved playing tennis and bridge, watching Dallas Cowboys football, golf and professional tennis matches with her sons. She loved talking and laughing on the phone for hours with her girlfriends and cousins. Over the last several years, she spent a lot of time with her wonderful neighbors in Sun City and enjoyed the relaxation of retirement.
Frieda is preceded in death by her parents Everett and Jenny, her sister Beverly Hooten and dear, long-time friends that she considered her family members, Frank and Patsy Nicksic.
Frieda is survived by her sons Joe (wife Cindy), Mike (wife Anita) and Mitch (wife Rachel), her beloved grandchildren Allie, Ariel, and Nathaniel, and her nieces and nephews that she cherished.
Frieda's family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the medical teams at St. David's Georgetown Hospital, Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital in Round Rock, her loving neighbors in Sun City, and the caring staff at Brookdale Senior Living in Georgetown.
There will be a private burial in Paris, Illinois.
