Frances Louise
Tackett
September 5, 1941 – January 2, 2026
Frances Louise Tackett, 84, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, in Round Rock, Texas. Born on September 5, 1941, in Tampa, Florida, she lived a full and vibrant life marked by love for her family, devotion to her faith, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew her.
Frances spent her early years in Louisiana and Indiana before eventually settling in Georgetown, Texas, in June of 1981-a place she proudly called home for the remainder of her life. Her journey took her to many places across the United States, but it was in Georgetown where she found lasting community and purpose.
Professionally, Frances dedicated herself to both industry and education. She worked at Tessco and Code Alarm before transitioning into a role that brought her closer to the heart of her community-serving with Georgetown Independent School District. She retired from GISD in 2014 after ten years of service, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and care.
Faith played a central role in Frances's later years. A devoted member of New Life Church in Georgetown Texas, she cherished her church family deeply. In 2024, she was baptized-a profound moment that reflected her commitment to serving God and living a life rooted in compassion and grace.
Frances was the cornerstone of a large and loving family. She was a devoted mother to Dottie Williams and husband Tom Williams; son Billy Tackett, son Brad Gurney; and son Baylus (JR) Tackett and wife Tracy Tackett Her joy multiplied through her grandchildren: Micheal Williams and wife Lauren Williams; Ashley Gonzales and husband Nick Gonzales; Baylus Tackett and wife Sasha Tackett; Chico Tackett and wife Leah Tackett. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Greyson Williams, Brynlee Williams, Jack Williams, Kamryn Williams, Zoey Tackett, Lyla Tackett, Weslie Tackett, Jordie Tackett, and Parker Gonzales. Frances also held a special place in her heart for many nieces and nephews whom she absolutely adored.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Baylus Tackett Sr.; parents John and Dorothy Chance; brothers Johnnie Chance, Jim Chance, Richard Chance; and sisters Vera Harris and Beverly Griffin.
Her pallbearers are Micheal Williams, Greyson Williams, Chico Tackett, Baylus Tackett, Nick Gonzales and Bubba Vidaure.
Frances found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life-crocheting intricate patterns with care, immersing herself in books that sparked imagination or reflection, playing games that brought laughter into the room-but above all else, she loved giving to others. Whether through time spent together or thoughtful gestures big or small, Frances gave freely from the heart.
Her warmth will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her so dearly.
A visitation for Frances will be held Friday January 16, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a small service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
