Obituary

Eulas "Butch" Emmert of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas for 42 years, passed away on November 8, 2021 at the age of 94.

He was born on February 19, 1927 in Tida, Louisiana to B. L. Emmert and Eula (Adams) Emmert.  He served in the U. S. Army from 1945 – 1947, and was married to Verna Mae Holzer in Pettus, Texas on April 9, 1949 until her death on May 11, 2016.

Mr. Emmert was employed as a Gas Plant Supervisor for Valero Energy in San Antonio, Texas. He retired on March 31, 1989 after 25 years.  He had a good time in his retirement years fishing and playing golf!

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Verna Mae Emmert;  father, B. L. Emmert; mother, Eula Kersh; his aunt and uncle who raised him, Edward Davis Miller and Beulah Miller; brother, A. J. Emmert; sister, Helen Emmert; half-sisters, Mary Jo Fields and Betty Jean Matthews; and grandson, Brian Watkins.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Gary Watkins of Georgetown, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Robert Kleinhans of Farmersville, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Edward and Pam Emmert of Georgetown, Texas; granddaughters, Cheryl Lowdermilk and husband Shane of Rockwall, Texas; Mandy Kleinhans of Irving, Texas; Ashley Emmert of Georgetown, Texas; Megan Carnley and husband, Clayton of Georgetown, Texas; and Morgan Emmert of Grapevine, Texas; grandsons Brandon Watkins of Austin, Texas and Davis Emmert of Austin, Texas; and 8 beautiful great-grandchildren.

Memorials in honor of Mr. Emmert may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Brookwood in Georgetown.
