Obituary

Elizabeth Sheley Warner (Betsy)

Betsy Warner (June 1953 - November 27, 2024) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Georgetown, TX. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, she moved to her cherished home state of Texas at a young age. She is preceded in death by her father, Walt; mother, Gondyne; and brother, Charles Sheley. Betsy is survived by her husband of 30 years, Steven; stepdaughter, Morgan; son, Denton Nichols (Joel); daughter, Julia Gilley (Jim); and daughter, Leah.

A proud graduate of SMU and University of Texas law, she held law licenses in four states: Texas, Washington, Alaska, and Michigan. Betsy also made a memorable appearance as a legal expert on The Dr. Phil Show and spent the bulk of her career helping those without the means to pay for legal counsel. While her academic accomplishments were significant to her, family always came first. Earlier this year, she welcomed her first grandchild, Evalena, who quickly captured her heart.

Betsy lived a vibrant and fulfilling 71 years. The family invites you to celebrate her life with them on Wednesday, December 18th, at Wellspring Church. The service will begin at 11 AM, followed by BBQ for lunch, one of her favorite meals.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made in her honor to a nonprofit that supports dementia research, such as the Alzheimer's Association.

A Celebration Of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 11:00 am at Wellspring Methodist Church in Georgetown.
