Elizabeth Ann
Stark
December 15, 1932 – April 1, 2026
Elizabeth Ann Stark (Turner) age 93, of Plano, TX, was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, after a brief stay at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. She was born in Austin, TX on Thursday, December 15, 1932 to Otha D. Turner and Irene (Barnard). She began her education in Creedmoor, TX, before her family relocated to a farm outside of Round Rock, TX, where she later graduated from Round Rock High School. She realized early in life living in the country wasn’t her calling, she longed to live in the city.
She was a good, kind, God loving women who never saw the thorns in people, only roses. She would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. She was a Christian, who believed in Heaven and knew one day she would be reunited with her loved ones. She was Baptized at the First Baptist Church in Round Rock. Later after moving to Pflugerville, TX, she became a member of the First Baptist Church for many years. She moved from her home in Pflugerville to Plano, TX, in July of 2025, to Prestonwood Court Assisted Living. She loved attending the Bible studies on Wednesdays and the church services on Sundays which was provided by Prestonwood Baptist Church.
Elizabeth started her career at the Texas Highway Department, Camp Hubbard in Austin, she later worked at the Texas Employment Commission, finally retiring from the Department of MHMR. She continued close friendships with longtime former work friends, Dana Garza and Mary Lou Lane. She loved you very much!
Her greatest love was her family, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were the great joys of her life, always bragging on them. She always looked forward to celebrating the holidays, the gathering of family, the excitement of the day, and the laughter and love. She loved being a mom, Meme and Big Meme and wanted to stay up on all the news going on in their life. Elizabeth will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as family and friends.
She loved to travel, she took several bus tours, even once taking her parents. Later she would take the family on cruises to celebrate graduations to the Caribbean and the Bahamas. She made a few trips up the East Coast and into British Columbia, Canada. She always dreamed of visiting Mount Vernon, so when David was serving at The Pentagon he took her to visit George Washington’s home. She was so excited and talked about that for years.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard, daughter-in-law Debbie Keithley and grandson Michael Keithley. She is survived by her son David Keithley (Eva), daughter Kathy Sharp (Randy), granddaughters Lori Dean (Dustin), Kristi Snow (Ryan) and Kellie Sharp. Four great-grandchildren, Landon and Presley Dean, Barrett and Blakley Snow. Sister, Barbara Raney, brother-in-law Weldon Stark, sister-in-law’s Gay Stark and Charla Stark, niece’s Rhonda Fedor and Donna Alexander, many other nieces, nephews.
The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, TX who cared for her. They are proof Real Heroes don’t wear capes, they wear scrubs. We wish to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kenneth Kroll, in Austin who was her primary care doctor for many years. Mom loved him and thought he hung the moon! His kindness, caring and patience is what all doctors should strive to be like. A heartfelt thank you to Meme’s Angels; Marvelia Perez, Irma Stowers and Blanca Munoz. They were not only Elizabeth’s loving and devoted caregivers but they became part of our family.
