It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Eileen McNamara Stengel at the remarkable age of 103. Eileen departed this life peacefully, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Eileen was born November 17, 1921, a period marked by significant change and progress. She was the oldest of four siblings and grew up during the Great Depression and World War II, developed a resilience and strength that would define her entire life.
Eileen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was united in matrimony with her beloved husband, United States Marine Seargent Edward Joseph Stengel, whom she now joins in eternal rest in the Veterans cemetery of Houston, Texas. Together, they built a loving family, raising their three Boys with values of God's truth, compassion, diligence, and kindness. Eileen was also a dedicated professional, in banking industry, and contributing greatly to her community through her work at St. John Vianney Church.
Eileen's life was a testament to the power of love and dedication. She was the matriarch of a loving family. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter and aroma of her renowned cooking. Eileen's wisdom and guidance have left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Eileen's family and friends remember her as a woman of great strength, grace, and unwavering love. She had a passion for life, an infectious smile and a heart that was kind to all. Her stories of the past and her vision for the future inspired everyone around her.
Eileen Stengel's life was a remarkable journey spanning over a century. She witnessed and adapted to numerous changes in the world all while steadfastly upholding the values that defined her. Her memory will endure in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories of a life well-lived.
Eileen Stengel will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Rest in peace, dear Eileen. You have lived a life full of love and have left a beautiful legacy behind.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her mother Frances and father John, sisters Patricia, Rosemary and brother Jack. Eileen is survived by her sons Joe, Jack, and Gregg, her daughters in law Janice and Joyce, her grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Sherry and Dale, Brett and Lisa, Lance and Adrienne and 12 Great Grandchildren and three Great Great Grandchildren.
A celebration of Mrs. Stengel's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home. 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78633.
