Edward Lee Haywood, 65, of Pflugerville, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2024. Born on September 12, 1958, in Austin, Texas, he later served in the Army from 1978 to 1985, where he dedicated seven years to his country, before embarking on his career. Haywood worked as a Senior Technologist leading the platform validation inventory control team, for the B200 Library at AMD, contributing to the field with his expertise and leadership.
An ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys, he looked forward to football season and watching his Cowboys play. Haywood enjoyed bowling, clay work, and photography, and he had a unique passion for collecting shoes. His hobbies reflected his diverse interests and his joyful approach to life.
When speaking to the friends and family of Haywood, he always had a smile to offer, a story to tell, and a laugh to share. Haywood brought an infectious joy to those around him and was always willing to lend a helpful hand to those in need.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Waltraud Haywood of 45 years; son, Richard Bolz and wife Kendra Porter of Salado, Texas; brother, Kenneth Haywood and wife Sharon of Elgin, Texas; and sister, Laverne Haywood of Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Haywood Jr and Beulah Haywood, brothers, Thomas, Roy Lee, Morris, and Raymond Haywood, and sister, Hattie Bolden. Edward has 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who brought him joy.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on September 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home, located at 5600 Williams Dr, Georgetown, TX 78633.
