Obituary

Edith Mims Zwernemann, 92 of Georgetown, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 3, 2024.  On Saturday, May 11 the family will receive visitors beginning at 1 P.M. followed by a celebration of life at 2 P.M., at Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Dr., Georgetown, Texas.  Burial immediately following the service at IOOF cemetery, 1117 E. 7th St., Georgetown.

Edith was born April 5, 1932 in Houston, Texas to Thomas Oliver and Lizzy Belle Basye Mims.  She married Calvin Zwernemann December 23,1948 and made their home in Houston.  The majority of her working career was spent with Great Southern Life Insurance Company retiring in 1997.  She has resided in Georgetown since 1997.

Prior to moving to Georgetown, she was volunteer secretary for New Life Assembly of God in Houston.  Always a loving and servant heart, after Calvin's death in 1997, Edith found comfort in loving people; her family, her friends and her church.  She enjoyed providing desserts for Crestview Baptist luncheon for Southwestern University students. She was a member of the ENCORE choir singing at various assisted living facilities, ministering to the residents.  She was a prayer warrior; if you had a need you could count on her to lift you, your family and needs to the Lord.

Edith is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin, her parents, and her brother, Thomas Edward Mims.

She is survived by sons, Kenneth Zwernemann and wife Barbara, Calvin Zwernemann and wife Lois, 6 grandchildren, Marcia Felker and husband Chris, David Zwernemann, Jennifer Anderson and husband Ryan, Jessica Bryan and husband Tyler, Tim Beaird and wife Missty, Paul Beaird and wife Krystal, 16 great-grandchildren, sister Bertha Pelzl and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 11th, 2024 in The Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. Randy Adair will be officiating.

The graveside service will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown. 1117 E 7th St, Georgetown, TX 78626.
