Earnest
Ramirez
May 11, 1956 – March 22, 2025
Earnest "Ernie" Ramirez, 68, of Andice, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 11, 1956, in Florence, Texas, where he grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and hard work.
As a child, Earnest worked alongside his family as a migrant farm worker, learning the value of dedication and perseverance. His love for agriculture continued throughout his youth as a proud member of the FFA. He found joy in showing steers at major livestock shows and competing on teams in poultry judging and grass judging.
In 1984, Earnest married the love of his life, Maria, and together they built a beautiful life over 41 years of marriage. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he took immense pride in his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Earnest's warmth and kindness created cherished memories and a lasting legacy that will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Earnest dedicated 45 years of service to Westinghouse Motor Company (now TECO Westinghouse), where he worked his way up to become a respected supervisor of multiple groups. His leadership, work ethic, and mentorship left a lasting impact on his colleagues.
In his free time, Earnest found joy in the great outdoors either by hunting on his land or going fishing, tending to his ranch and caring for his animals. He was happiest when he was with family and friends surrounded by the beauty of the land he loved. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and pool, always making time to gather with friends for laughter and friendly competition. His presence brought light and joy to every room he entered.
As a life long member of Santa Rosa Catholic Church, Earnest continued his service to others and God as a former member of the finance council, a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he even served as Grand Knight for many years, and last but not least he served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
Earnest's faith as a devout Catholic guided him throughout his life. He truly lived by the principles of fellowship, kindness, and service to others. His family finds comfort in knowing he has been reunited with his loved ones in the presence of God.
Earnest is survived by his beloved wife, Maria; his daughters Deanna (Mike Herrera) and Cindy (Mario Barcenas Jr.); his stepson Alfredo (Rocio Andablo); his brother Robert (Linda); six grandchildren, Ashley, Jany, Alfredo Jr., Mario III, Jonathan, and Evelyn; and two great-grandchildren, Rylan and Killian. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, and many loved ones who have welcomed him into Heaven.
