Obituary

Dora Pauline "Paula" Bloedorn entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 27, 2023 after 96 years of gracious and joyful living in His faithful care. Paula was born in Durham, Arkansas on September 14, 1927, the fourth of five children born to Carlin Floyd "Richard" Dareing and Alice Barringer Dareing. Raised in a Baptist preacher's home in small towns in Oklahoma she came to know Jesus at an early age. After high school, she trained to manage medical records and headed off to the big city of Denver, Colorado. While working there, she met the love of her life, Charles "Nick" Bloedorn. The two were married on June 6, 1951, in Miami, Oklahoma, and enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Living in Colorado for many years, Paula was a homemaker and outstanding hostess as Nick rose through his civil service career. They started each day singing a chorus of praise. They were involved in church and civic affairs and enjoyed bowling, golf, and traveling together. Retirement took them to Peoria, Arizona. After Nick's passing in 2013, Paula moved to Georgetown, Texas to be closer to her sister, Jewell as well as a nephew and his wife. For the last five years of her life, she was tenderly cared for by the staff at Sedro Trail Assisted Living. There she put her years of experience playing dominos with her father to good use in games with staff and visitors. Paula will be remembered as a "hostess with the mostest" with a positive and grateful outlook on life. Her cheerful smile and encouragement to count blessings will be greatly missed. She is survived by her nieces and nephews having set the record for longevity amongst her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, her siblings; Hazel, Jewell, John, and Irene, and their spouses. No services will be held. Her remains will join her husband at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix as she enjoys the place Jesus has prepared for her.
