Donald J. Volpini, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on April 16, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 23, 1944, to Donato Volpini and Viola Calamari Volpini, Don spent his early years in Royal Oak, Michigan, where he attended Kimball High School.
Don proudly served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968.
He dedicated 25 years of service to the Southfield, Michigan Fire Department, retiring in 1995 as a Fire Inspector. Following his retirement, he worked for seven years with TVA Safety and spent four years working with Home Depot conducting sprinkler system inspections for new store locations.
In 2003, Don fully retired to Georgetown, Texas, where he enjoyed a wonderful retirement playing golf.
Don is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Kathleen Volpini; his daughter, Dr. Kaelin C. Merveldt; and his granddaughters, Olivia Paige Merveldt and Emma Claire Merveldt, who reside in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for May 21, 2026 at Santa Rosa de Lima Church in Andice, Texas. The burial will follow after at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
