Donald Ray Thomas, 72, Passed away on August 1, 2024. On November 25, 1951, Donald was born to Christine Thomas. He was delivered by the renowned Dr. James Dickey in Taylor, Texas at the Dickey Clinic.

Donald grew up in the Happy Hollow section of Bartlett with his sisters, brothers, and other family members. As a child, he was given the nickname "Dump" which he fondly accepted and was known by to everyone he encountered throughout his life.
Donald became a member of Good Hope Baptist Church when the church was first established in Bartlett, Texas. He attended Booker T. Washington School, Bartlett Public School and Killeen High School. As a young man he met and married Sharon Davis and became the father of their son, Donald Ray. He is also the father of a daughter, Wyneke McDonald (Robert).

Donald moved to Fort Worth and worked for Texas Motors as a parts technician for over 20 years. He also worked for Chem Dry Carpet Cleaning services for a number of years. He spent enjoyable time fishing with his buddy Eddie and winning with his pool stick. When Donald relocated back to central Texas he moved to Georgetown. He was employed at Walmart for 10 years as an unloader.

When Donald retired he enjoyed calling his cousins to chit chat . He also enjoyed watching TV reruns such as Columbo and new age TV like Judge shows. Donald is preceded in death by his mother, Christine Thomas.

Donald will be missed by his son Donald Ray, daughter, Wyneke McDonald (Robert), his grandchildren, his sister, Rose Thomas and brothers David Verse and Chauncey Thomas (Doris), nieces and nephews, two first cousins Johnnie Watson, Helen (Johnnie Williams) and other cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 10th, 11 AM at Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church. Located at 529 Bowie St, Bartlett, TX 76511. Donald Thomas will be laid to rest at the Old Bartlett Cemetery.
