Danny Glen Criswell, of Georgetown, received his promotion to his Heavenly home on July 4 th , 2021, at the age of 63. Danny is survived by his wife of 34 years, Elin Borg Criswell; daughter, Becky, and Randy Sharp of Dallas; son, Daniel, and Jennie of Dale; and daughter, Susan, of Georgetown. Two step grandchildren, Juliet Sharp of Dallas; and Abed Alkhalafat of Dale. Brother, Jerry, and Millie Criswell, of Troy, Tennessee; Trudy Gail and David Oats of Rogers; and sister, Nancy, and Danny Rivers, of Troy, Tennessee. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Danny was born on July 6, 1957, in Troy, Tennessee, to the late Dietzel and Janette Lyon Criswell. He attended Obion County Central High School before completing the program at the Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship in Maryland. He became a U.S. Merchant Mariner and then worked on riverboats on the Mississippi River. After moving to Texas, he settled into his life's work, as a facilities maintenance man. He greatly loved his last job with the Texas Management Group (Round Rock Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai car dealerships). He was a hardworking man who loved to work with his hands and creatively solve problems. A quiet spoken man, but when he spoke, he had something good to say. A humble man, who loved the Lord, his wife, kids, family, and friends.
A family graveside service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Evangelical Free Church Cemetery of Georgetown.
A Memorial Service celebrating Danny's life will be held on Saturday, July 10 th at 2 p.m., at Grace Fellowship Church, 6600 Lakewood Drive South, Georgetown.
The family would like thank Silverado Hospice of Austin, for their excellent care of Danny in his last weeks of life. They would also like to thank Dr. Brian Shimkus and his staff, oncologist for the Austin Cancer Center. Cancer is a cruel disease, but Danny is now liberated and eternally healed.
