Craig graduated from Fairfield High School in 1964 and went on to earn a Bachelors Degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. Craig then served In the Army for four years. He was an Laotian linguist in Thailand. After military service he started his career as a Financial Advisor and went on to work for over 40 years in his field.

Craig was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many people. He was always the one to make you laugh. He was always there if you needed someone to talk to. His passion was to help other people. He loved to play baseball and tennis in his younger years, but his favorite was golf. He could watch golf on TV all day when it was on. He also loved his crown and coke to celebrate anything (or as Craig would say "Adult Beverage"). Craig was a DJ in his younger years with his own following as CC's Rock and Roll Revival in Macomb, Illinois.
Craig also was involved in many charities, including Toast Master, Discovery of Austin, Elk's charities, VFW, Abundant Life Foundation.
Craig is survived by his wife, Linda King-Cunningham; son, Chad Cunningham of Cortez, CO; son, Curtis Cunningham of Austin, TX; brother, Stanley Cunningham and wife Debora (Ely) of New Braunfels, TX; sister-in-law, Glenda Martin and husband Gene; nieces: Staci (Bob) Young of Beardstown, IL and Christa Cunningham of St. Louis, MO; nephews: Christopher (Caroline) Martin of Atlanta, GA, Corey (Ginny) Cunningham of San Antonio, TX, Patrick (Daphne) Cunningham of Abilene, TX, and Josh (Lacey) Cunningham of New Braunfels, TX; great-nephew: Curran Cunningham of Panama City, FL; great-nieces: Hannah (Alex) Winner of Carlyle, IL, Caley Cunningham, of Austin, TX, Lauren (Jake) Wilson of Rushville, IL, and Miranda Cunningham of Abilene, Texas; great-great nephews: Hayes Winner and Truett Winner; and great-great niece, Harper Martin.
