Cora Ruth
Levasseur
July 18, 1937 – May 8, 2024
Cora Ruth LeVasseur, 86, passed away peacefully on May 8th surrounded by her loving husband, Dick LeVasseur and her family.
Born on July 18th, 1937, in Old Town, Maine. She was the daughter of Frank and Ruth Bertrand.
Cora married her high school sweetheart on September 12,1955. Dick joined the Army, and she became a Military wife for 24 years.
They were the love of each other's lives. They enjoyed everyday life together and traveling from Maine to Texas.
Cora had many friends and was known for her devotion to our Lord, Jesus Christ and the kindness and her love for her family. She enjoyed a good card game with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The laughter still echoes from the kitchen table. Hardly ever defeated, she taught many life lessons of playing fair and learning to win gracefully and to accept loss. She had a GreenThumb and loved to feel the soil between her fingers. She was a published author and a master with a fishing pole.
Cora is survived by her husband, Joseph Richard LeVasseur; her children: Nancy, Stephen, Michael and Marcy; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home. Rev. Jim McLendon will be officiating. 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78633.
