Clifford Earl Jackson, age 86 of Georgetown, TX, went to be home with the Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
Cliff was born August 21, 1939 in Balko, OK. He was the oldest of three children and the oldest son of the late Raymond and Evelyn Jackson. He attended school in Balko, OK, and graduated from Balko High School. Upon graduation, his family moved to Delta, CO. He attended Western State College of Colorado and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history and a master's degree in counseling. He worked as a public school teacher, principal, and coached Jr. High basketball in Colorado for sixteen years. Cliff surrendered to God’s call to full-time ministry and the family moved to Fort Worth, TX where he attended and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in religious education. He served as director of religious education for 25 years. He served in four different churches and retired from Vista Grande Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, CO in 2004. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Ruth, moved to Sun City in Georgetown, TX in 2008.
Cliff married Ruth Brewer on June 30, 1962. They were married or 63 years. They were blessed with two children, daughter Patricia and son Darrell.
Cliff loved the Lord, his family, and friends. He enjoyed traveling and making many stops so Ruth could take pictures of their journeys. Cliff loved spending time fishing, watching sports, reading, and working sudoku puzzles. His favorite hobby was woodcarving. One would often find Cliff whittling on a stick or carving his master pieces out of wood or Cypress knees. He enjoyed attending woodcarving workshops and participating in a local woodcarving club. His carving received many different awards.
In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Jackson.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Ruth Jackson, of Georgetown, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Michael Groseclose of Nelsonville, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Julie Jackson of Georgetown, TX; and sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Don Bumpas of Fort Worth, TX. Cliff was blessed with two granddaughters, two great-grandchildren, and three bonus grandchildren.
Cliff’s legacy is one of faith, love, and family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Ramsey Funeral Home and Crematorium with Reverend Michael Groseclose officiating.
The family would like to thank their friends and relatives for all their support, thoughts, and prayers. We especially want to thank Jakota and Olga of Altus Hospice for their wonderful care and support during this journey.
In lieu of flowers, if anyone so wishes, the family asks for donations to be made to Mission:Dignity, Guidestone. This mission provides retirement-aged Southern Baptist ministers, workers, and widows with extra money needed for housing, food, and vital medications.
