Clark Young of Georgetown, Texas, passed away the morning of November 27, 2022, at the age of 80.  He courageously fought a battle with Parkinson's disease and Multiple Myeloma.

Clark was born on June 7, 1942, to his loving parents W. L. and Myrtle Young in Big Sandy, Texas. He attended Emmett Scott High School in Tyler, Texas. After completing high school, he attended Prairie View A & M University where he played baseball.  He graduated with a B.S. in electronic technology.  After graduating, he was drafted and served in the United States Army in Vietnam.  While in college, Clark met the love of his life, Carlotta (Fontenot) Young.  They were married on February 17, 1968, after he returned from Vietnam.

He was employed at IBM specializing in electronics.  In 2001, after 33 years of working with IBM in Rochester, Minnesota and Austin, Texas, he retired. Clark spent his retirement walking most mornings at San Gabriel Park and loved playing golf.  He took any opportunity to socialize and thoroughly enjoyed joking and catching up with friends. But, most of all, Clark loved his family. He was a devoted husband for 54 years, a loving father, and a doting grandfather.

Clark was a member of Georgetown Church of Christ for over 35 years.  He also enjoyed membership with the Elks Lodge, VFW, Georgetown Parkinson's Support Group, and Trendsetters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty J. Young, and nephew, Anthony Broyles.

He is survived by his wife, Carlotta; son, Chadwin Young and wife, Qiana; daughter, Cerissa Young Tillman and husband, Garland; brother, Lias Carl Young and wife, Yvonne; sister, Bernice Young Broyles and husband, Don; brother, Robert Keith Young; grandchildren, Caelyn and Cayson Young, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and an uncle.

Services for Mr. Young will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Georgetown Church of Christ in Georgetown, Texas.

Clark's family would like to sincerely thank the ICU medical staff at St. David's Georgetown Hospital.  The care and support provided was outstanding.
