C. Charlene Starr Jones, born in Iraan, Texas on October 16, 1936 to U. Cecil Starr and Ada V. Moore Starr, passed away on August 5, 2020, age 83 at her home in Georgetown, Texas.

Raised in Lubbock, Texas, Charlene graduated in 1954 from Lubbock High School and went on to pursue a Fine Arts Degree at Texas Tech.  While attending college, she married Earlene Jones in 1955 and interrupted her education to raise two children.  She later resumed her education and graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso in 1972.  Charlene enjoyed nurturing her garden, researching genealogy and Texas history, and pursuing other artistic activities.

She is survived by her brother Nelson Starr, daughter Jana Schrier, son Kelly Jones, nephews Cole Starr and Paul Starr, grandchildren Stephanie Brown, Rachel Schrier, Jon Jones, and Erin Sanford, and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday August 10,2020 at Greathouse Cemetery ,2343 E FM 93 Temple, Texas 76502.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Meals on Wheels of Williamson & Burnet Counties.
