Carolyn (Wilhelm) Smith

Carolyn "Carol" Smith, 77, of Georgetown, passed away on Thursday, March, 7, 2024. She was born to Lois and Willie Wilhelm on July 4, 1946, in Austin, Texas.

Carol married her high school sweetheart and forever sweetie Don Smith on September 10, 1964. She worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Austin Independent School District before taking on her most important job...raising her two sons.

Carol loved to quilt and had a real knack for putting fabric together for beautifully finished works of art. Many family members and friends will have a lasting remembrance of her through the quilts she gifted them.

Carol was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown. She was a founding member of the Prayers & Squares and PieceMakers ministries. Those ministries, very dear to her heart, provide quilts to church members with cancer or a chronic illness, baby blankets for the nursery, sewing costumes and many other mission related projects.

Carol is survived by her husband Don, sons Craig (Tara) Smith, David (Emily) Smith, granddaughter Miriam, sisters Vicki (Wayne) Collins, Angie (Danny) Stabeno, brothers Tommy (Mary) Wilhelm, Don (Gina) Wilhelm and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lois and Willie Wilhelm and in-laws Nina and Clifton Smith.

Visitation to celebrate the life of Carol and share memories will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15th, 2024 at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Connie Day and Jean Grady for their constant support and loving care they provided for their longtime friend Carol.
