Carolyn Rae (Clark) Cole, 81, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026. She was born on March 22, 1944, in Wapato, Yakima County, Washington to Benjamin Jr. and Cleo Clark. After high school, she went to work for PNB telephone company as a switchboard operator. Later she made her way to Anchorage, Alaska where she worked in Purchasing with the Anchorage Telephone Utility. She met and married Edward L. Cole in Anchorage, Alaska on August 19, 1978. With Ed's job in the Alaska Oil & Gas industry their adventures later took them around the world. Their first international assignment was in 1980 to Sumatra, Indonesia and Carolyn gave birth to their daughter Jennifer Rae in Singapore shortly after arrival. Later they traveled and worked in Tunisia, N. Africa, Cork, Ireland and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia (16 years). Carolyn and Ed eventually came to reside in Texas starting in 1994.
Carolyn was very adventurous. Amongst the numerous international travels, she got a once in a lifetime trip on K2 Aviation with daughter Jennifer and her mother Cleo around Mt. McKinley, Alaska landing on Ruth Glacier. She will be remembered as a devoted Christian who loved God, a loving wife, mother and Nana. Carolyn loved all animals but especially was fond of her dogs. Carolyn enjoyed various hobbies in Sun City, helping with Meals on Wheels, and at The Worship Place Church Soup Kitchen. Most of all she loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren watching them grow.
She leaves behind her husband; Edward, daughter Jennifer Fruge (husband Eric) of Baytown,Texas, and her three grandchildren; Emily, Ryan, and Amber. Her sister, Kathleen Kaercher of Washington and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Darryl and Benjamin Clark, and her sister Patricia Schornack. Funeral services will be held in Georgetown, Texas on January 30th, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations made to any of the following research organizations: Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, American Liver Foundation, National Kidney Foundation, or the American Diabetes Association.
