Carolyn Crawford Behne passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at her care home in Cedar Park, Texas, surrounded by her children. After enduring many years of immobility in her lower body stemming from a medical procedure mishap, she has found peace.

Born on August 9, 1941, in Tyler, Texas, to John (Pete) and Winifred Crawford, Carolyn attended school in Athens, Texas. She later earned her Master of Education from East Texas State University.

Carolyn had a distinguished career in education, working as a teacher and education consultant. She spent six years as a consultant for early childhood education for the handicapped at Region XII Education Center. In 1959, she married John "Bill" Davis, with whom she had two children, Debra and Stuart Davis. Following her divorce, Carolyn embarked on a teaching roll in Temple, Texas where she met and married Ronald Lewis Behne in April 1977. Their union was marked by happiness filled with travel until Ron's passing in 2004.

An avid traveler, Carolyn set foot on all seven continents and explored 45 states. She found joy near or in the water, in games of rummikub, in the company of dogs, observing birds and reading good book. She delighted in exploring historical cemeteries and belonged to the Association for Gravestone studies. She was also a member of the Bell County Historic Commission.

She leaves behind a daughter, Debra Davis, a son, Stuart Davis and his wife, Roxanne Davis all of Austin, Texas, sister in-laws Charlotte Logsdon of Garland, Texas and Carolyn Crawford of Dublin, Ohio, nephew and wife Trace and Veronica Crawford of Hillard, Ohio and three step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald L. Behne, and older brother John Crawford.

A memorial service honoring Carolyn Crawford Behne will take place on August 29 , 2024, at 2:00pm at Ramsey Funeral Home, located at 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78633. She will be interred at a later date, with her husband at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
