Obituary

Bob Lindsey, 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at St. David's Georgetown Hospital in Georgetown, Texas.

Bob was in the ICU at the St. David's Georgetown Hospital for 2 weeks with an unexpected illness. He had been living in Sun City, Georgetown with his wife, Terry Lindsey.

He was born in Cameron, Texas, Milam County, on November 24, 1942. Bob was the third child in a family of eight children. His dad was a farmer, and at one time the largest independent beekeeper in the state of Texas. Bob lived with his family in several places including Cameron, Waco, and Meridian, Texas, as well as a short time in Minnesota.

Bob left home at an early age to work in the oil fields in west Texas. He then spent several years in Dallas as a master electrician and maintenance engineer. In 1980 he was in an accident at work where he fell from a 30 ft ceiling to the concrete below. His recovery took some time but he was able to return to his work as a plant electrician. In 1985, he met and married his wife of almost 40 years, Terry Lindsey. He then used the skills he learned at work to be the General Contractor over many years for his own family's residences including three houses and a barn in the north and central Texas areas. He did much of the work on the homes himself.

Bob was an active member of Baptist churches near where he lived and was involved in outreach work which included providing bus rides for members to go to church and mechanical expertise to keep the buses maintained. Christian faith throughout his life was very important to him, as all who knew him could clearly see.

He is survived by his wife, Terry Lindsey, and his son, Bobby W. Lindsey of Broomfield, CO, his step son, Kristopher Eades of Austin, TX,, and his step daughter, Jennifer Galloway of Rapid City, SD. He also has one step granddaughter, Rachael Yurisich of Rapid City, SD., and two step great grandsons, Ian Yurisich and Oliver Yurisich. His surviving siblings are: Carrie Stacha of Lakewood, FL, Juanita Platt of Oklahoma City, OK, Shirley O'Conner of Belton, TX, Geneva Olsen of Greenville, TX, and Joe Lindsey of Clifton, TX. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Roy Lindsey of Quinlin, TX, and Bruce Lindsey of Lake O' the Pines, TX.

Bob liked to work in the yard, and could often be seen watering the plants and the grass. He frequently commented about the songs of the birds and the competition between the birds and the squirrels in the backyard. And it was in the yard that he enjoyed meeting and talking with his neighbors as they walked by. He enjoyed exercising and used his home gym daily. He did most of the mechanic work on the vehicles and repaired items at home and at his stepson, Kris' condo.
