Beverly Ann
Vaughan
March 25, 1938 – May 22, 2026
Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery
1:00 - 1:30 pm (Central time)
Beverly Ann (Hopkins) Vaughan passed away on May 22, 2026 at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, TX. She was born on March 25th, 1938 to Thomas Rodney Hopkins and Olive Impson in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Duncanville High School in 1957 and married her high school sweetheart Manford Wood Vaughan on December 31st, 1956.
Beverly and Manford bought a house at 536 Woodmont Dr. in the Pleasant Grove section of southeast Dallas where they were active foster parents raising and giving a steady home life to many children from broken homes in the area. In addition, they raised four children of their own.
Beverly loved to socialize with family and friends and was a registered member of the Choctaw Nation of southeastern Oklahoma. In 1970 she and Manford purchased 40 acres in Becker Community in Kaufman County. She loved having a farm to call home where she could support her children’s active participation in farming or community activities and Kemp School system sports. The Vaughan family moved their annual July 4th picnic to the farm in Becker for many years and she helped make sure everyone was welcome and enjoyed the food and fellowship.
Beverly was Mom to more than her own family. When her children brought friends home she considered them her extended children and always welcomed them with open arms. Her breakfasts with pancakes or homemade biscuits were legendary and something you did not want to miss. If you were coming to the farm to fish or hunt you always got there early in the morning to experience her breakfasts.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents and husband Manford, older brother Hank Hopkins and is survived by younger brother Tommy Hopkins.
She is survived by sons Dewayne and wife Cindy, Mark and wife Dianna, Leslie and daughter Judith Moree and husband Robert. Grandchildren include Dewayne II, Kimberly, Kasey, Jessica Moree, Tiffany Moree, Matthew Moree and Brandon Moree. Great grandchildren include Devin, Justin, Annabelle, Pepper, Basil and Mace.
A graveside service is scheduled for the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Veterans Cemetery in Dallas on Thursday, May 28th at 1pm. A celebration of life with family and friends will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 at Spring Creek Bar-B-Q at 4108 S Carrier Pkwy in Grand Prairie, TX and all are welcome.
