Betty
Williams
December 26, 1930 – November 18, 2020
Betty Lou Williams died peacefully on November 18, 2020 in her home in Georgetown, TX.
Born and raised in Wyoming; it was always her home even though she moved to Texas in 2012 to be with her daughter. A 1948 Rawlins High School graduate, she was a cheerleader for the Rawlins Outlaws. She married Jack Williams, a US Marine Corps veteran, in 1952 after he returned from the Korean War. Betty and Jack began their life together in Sinclair, moving to Rawlins in 1971. Betty worked at the Sinclair Refinery for a short time before becoming the secretary to the principals at Rawlins High School, until she retired in 1975. She enjoyed her summers at Seminoe Dam and filled her retirement years with knitting, cooking, golf, swimming, traveling with Jack throughout America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, winters in Palm Springs and her weekly gatherings with close friends (the BAWAS). She and Jack especially enjoyed the beautiful backroads of Wyoming.
Jack preceded her death in March 2010.
Betty is survived by her son, Scott Williams and wife Stormie; daughter, Jill Hickok and husband Phil; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
No funeral services are planned.
She will join Jack at a graveside remembrance in the spring/summer at the Rawlins Cemetery.
