Obituary

Betty E. Murray, age 88, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on August 12, 2018. She was born June 10, 1930 in London, England to William Arthur and Kate (Napper) Evans. Betty worked as a Medical Transcriptionist for Dr. William Velie in Orleans, Massachusetts until her retirement. She attended English public schools and commercial college. Betty held various secretarial positions throughout her life. She was a member of the Society of Sponsors after she christened the USS Cape Cod on behalf of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include daughter, Susan Norman (Luke), Victoria Murray; sister, Patricia Reaney; grandchildren, Kyle Norman (Heather), Julie Shipton (Scott); great grandchildren, Connor and Audrey Norman.


She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to the USO or to ASPCA.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 10:00 am at Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown. Burial will take place in Orleans, Massachusetts.
