Betty Jo Bunch
She was born in Coolidge, Texas on July 30, 1929 to Gurley and Maxine Sellers. Betty grew up in Coolidge and graduated from high school there.
Betty met Almer Bunch in Coolidge after he returned from World War II and they married in 1946. Over the course of Almer's 30 year career in the army, they lived in various cities and countries until his retirement in 1966. They returned to Texas to live in Mexia. After Almer's death in 1994, Betty remained in Mexia for a number of years, finally moving to Georgetown, Texas in 2017 to be near her son and daughter-in-law.
In 1948 she gave birth to her first son, James Almer Bunch and in 1951 her second son, Robert Wayne Bunch, was born.
Betty remained a mother and housewife while living the life of an army wife in places as varied as Milwaukee, Wisconsin; San Antonio, Texas; Leavenworth, Kansas; Sendai, Japan; St. Louis, Missouri; Kenai, Alaska; and Verdun, France.
She was a member of the Northcrest Church of Christ in Mexia, Texas for 50 years and became a member of the San Gabriel Church of Christ when she moved to Georgetown.
Survivors include son, Robert Bunch of Georgetown, Texas, grandson Thad Bunch of Mexia, Texas, and granddaughter Chandra Engleke and husband Terry and great-grandson Brent Engleke of Gonzales, Texas.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Gurley and Maxine Sellers, three brothers, husband Almer Bunch, and son James Bunch.
