Bertram "Bert"
Foster
July 10, 1970 – May 1, 2025
Bertram "Bert" Raymond Foster passed away to be with our Lord on May 1, 2025. He was born on July 10, 1970, to John and Claudette Foster in Houston, Texas. Throughout his life, Bert had an unwavering love for his family, friends, and humanity. He served as a teacher, coach, motivator, financial supporter, and entertainer. Bert never met a stranger and loved his family immensely. He sincerely aimed to help others achieve their goals, whether it was catching a fish, hitting a ball, or providing for their families.
Bert admired the unique talents of his immediate family and worked to develop and support their gifts for their benefit and enjoyment. He often spoke with pride about his son Brady's achievements, namely in tennis, baseball, and math, as well as his daughter Allie's accomplishments in rodeo, FFA, and her humorous wit. He was also so proud of their numerous academic achievements and their innate drive to excel. He was deeply grateful for his wife, Melissa, who devoted herself to nurturing their faith, managing the household, and managing the busy lives of the twins. Bert was excited to recently learn that she had decided to start riding horses again, a passion and talent of hers that he cherished. Bert was a parishioner at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in Andice, Texas.
In his youth in Roswell, NM, Bert excelled academically and had a strong passion for friendships and team sports, particularly baseball. He shared his father's love for aviation and his respect for the U.S. military, which inspired him to attend The New Mexico Military Institute and later the U.S. Air Force Academy for his undergraduate studies. Eventually, Bert chose to pursue a career in financial management at St. Edward's University, following in his mother's footsteps. For the past 26 years, Bert served his community and beyond as a Certified Financial Planner and was a member of the elite Million Dollar Round Table organization. He was a Co-Founder of Legacy One Financial Advisors and most recently was a Founder and Managing Partner of US Capital Wealth Advisors, which enabled him to support his family and help others create and maintain resources to meet their own needs.
Bert believed that travel was a form of education and sought out big adventures with his family. Much of his adventurous spirit was often fulfilled by enthusiastically supporting the Texas Longhorns with his family, joining his many golf buddies on golf trips around the country, and attending the annual Air Force Academy family ski trip. He loved skiing, fly fishing, bird hunting, golfing, coaching youth baseball, and spending time with his family. He was a mentor to many in his personal life and in his business, and his absence will be felt around the world. Additionally, Bert contributed his time and resources to assist the local community through Big Brothers/Big Sisters, We Care, the Rotary Club of Sun City, TX, and the Knights of Columbus.
Bert is preceded in death by his father, John Clyde Foster (FO, ATC). He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Melissa Foster, and their cherished twins, Brady and Allie Foster. Bert's loving and faithful mother, Claudette Foster, also survives him.
Additionally, he is survived by his beloved sister, Renée Gwyther; his brother-in-law, Brad Gwyther; his nephew, Quinlan Gwyther; his brother, Justin Foster; his sister-in-law, Stacie Foster; his niece, Paige Foster; his nephew, Iric Foster; his in-laws, Tommy and Shirley Hall; his brother-in-law, Mark Hall, along with his wife, Janey and their children, Lucy, Alice, and George. Bert is also survived by his half-brother, J.K. Foster and "Grandma" Jean Smith.
A Mass in honor of Bert will take place on May 19th at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in Andice at 11:00 AM. Following the Mass, there will be a celebration of Bert's life at the Georgetown Country Club.
