Audrey Grissom, 94, of Austin, Texas, passed away on December 29, 2024. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend who will be greatly missed. Audrey was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 24, 1930 to Maynard and Marguerite Pedarre. She graduated from Louisiana State University with honors in May 1951. She met Joseph Grissom while attending LSU and they married on December 23, 1952. They had two sons, Joe and Dave.
Over the course of their lifetime, the Grissoms lived in Louisiana, Virginia, Texas, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Florida, and Arkansas. Prior to moving to Austin in August 2014, they lived in Sun City (Georgetown), Texas for ten years.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her sons Joe (Deena) and Dave (Ginger), her granddaughter Elizabeth (Geoff) and two grandchildren (Geoffrey and Audrey).
The family would like to thank Sue and Clark Miller, Susan Barry, and Denise Eason for their love and support over these past years. The family also extends their sincere thanks to Audrey's Brookdale Independent Living family and staff, Brookdale Skilled Nursing staff, and the St. David's Hospice team.
It was Audrey's request that she not have a memorial service. Memorial contributions may be given to your charity of choice.
