Arthur Flores Talamantes, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away on October 22, 2024, at the age of 91. Arthur was born to Arthur Talamantes Sr. and Vincenta (Bessie) Flores on October 10, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas.
A proud veteran, Arthur served in the U.S. Navy, where he exemplified dedication and honor. He was especially proud of his service on the USS Ticonderoga. After his military service, he enjoyed thirty-nine years of working for the National Weather Service until his retirement. During his career he was stationed in Columbia, Panama, Swan Islands, and various posts throughout Texas. He enjoyed Texas history and gardening. He was married to his beloved wife, Carolyn, sharing countless memories and adventures. They especially enjoyed road trips together.
He is survived by: his devoted wife, Carolyn; his daughter Tracyne Burrer and husband Mike of Comfort, Texas; his daughter Elizabeth Mullins of Houston, Texas; his sister Mary Perez of San Antonio, Texas; his three grandchildren, Jessica J. Sandrisser of Austin, Texas, Jacob Mullins of Houston, Texas, and Sara Mullins of Houston Texas; his four great grandchildren; and his step daughters, Mitzi Boyles of Marble Falls, Texas, Vangie Israel and husband Jeff of Oklahoma, A. Katharine Lusk and husband Dan of Big Spring, Texas, and Minessa Mesic of Brownwood, Texas -- all of whom will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Bessie Talamantes, as well as his brother Edward Flores Talamantes.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5th at 10:00am in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home, located at 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78633, where family and friends are invited to honor Arthur's life and legacy. Following the visitation, there will be a graveside service at 1:00pm at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, located at 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542. There will be a light reception after the graveside service at 3:00pm at the Tiffany Lounge inside The Hacienda, located at 60 Del Webb Boulevard, Georgetown, TX 78633.
Arthur Talamantes will be remembered for his unwavering love, strength, and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice in his memory or a tree planted in his memory.
