It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anita Christy on October 23, 2024 at the age of 60 after a prolonged and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Anita and her husband Joe, were married for 29 years and have two sons, Rohan and Nikhil. She was known for her strong faith, unwavering determination and love and support for her family and community. She was a parishioner at the St John Vianney Church in Round Rock.

Anita worked as a Compliance Engineer/Developer at Merck MSD.

Anita was a trained classical pianist having completed her training at the Trinity College of Music, London. She also received her Masters in Music Education from IU, Bloomington. Music was her language, her solace, and her method of connecting with the world. Her musical prowess was notable, and it became her enduring legacy. The joy she brought into this world with her music continues to reverberate even as she is no longer with us.

Anita is survived by her husband, Joe Mathew, her sons, Rohan and Nikhil, her brother Prem/Silvy, her sister Suja/Kenneth and several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation (or volunteer) in her name to Community First! Village, a cause she felt very strongly about. She often served there by volunteering both with her colleagues at Merck and her friends for the community.

Funeral services will be held at St John Vianney Church in Round Rock on Friday, November 8th at 10:00 AM. A viewing will be held at the church at 9:00 AM followed by a Rosary at 9:30 AM. Anita's wishes were to be cremated so the interment will follow at a later date.

The family is very grateful to the many individuals from the local community for their love, support and prayers. Additionally they are also very appreciative of all the efforts of the medical staff involved in her care.
