A. Alicen Herrin, 45, of Austin passed away on November 6, 2018.
A Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. with the Memorial Service following at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018 at First Baptist Georgetown in Georgetown, Texas.
Born just ahead of a major snow storm in Denver, Colorado, on November 26, 1972, Andrea Alicen Herrin brought immense joy to her parents Oakley and Sue Hall (Mitchell). She grew up in the loving family of her parents and sister, Natalie. Even as a toddler, she exhibited her God given gifts of strength and independence with her memorable phrase, "Do by self, Mommy." At the age of seven, Alicen made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, and this decision directed the rest of her life. After several relocations, the Hall family set down roots in Kingwood, Texas, where Alicen developed lasting friendships. While she was a serious student, she also excelled in sports and art in high school. During her collegiate years at Texas A&M, Alicen's academic accomplishments made her an outstanding architectural student. While at Texas A&M, Alicen obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Design, a Master's Degree in Architecture and a fellow Aggie with whom to share her blessed life. Alicen met Scott W. Herrin at a Bible Study while they were students attending the university, and they fell in love despite Alicen's fierce desire to best Scott in several sports. In the summer of 1997 on June 7, Alicen became Mrs. Scott W. Herrin in Kingwood, Texas. Alicen had a successful architecture career in Georgetown until she "graduated" to be a mother.
Alicen and Scott have two beautiful daughters, Ansley (17) and Ashlen (16), who are "practically perfect in every way." Alicen retired her competitive high-tops to encourage Ansley and Ashlen in sports, theater, and church activities. Alicen thoroughly enjoyed planning family vacations to see the USA, but her favorite destination was always Disney World. As a stay at home mom, Alicen took great pride in raising their daughters with her husband, Scott. Family love was always in abundance in the Herrin household. Alicen will be dearly missed.
To cherish her memory, Andrea Alicen Herrin leaves her husband of 21 years, Scott Herrin and their daughters, Ansley and Ashlen of Austin, Texas; parents, Oakley and Sue Hall of Kingwood, Texas; sister, Natalie McCulloch and husband Mark and their children Marielle and Jax, of Cypress, Texas as well as many loved extended family members and close friends.
The family asks for those who wish to donate in lieu of flowers, to do so in Alicen's name to the Leilani Essary Hurles Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at MD Anderson.
