Alice Mable
Johns
September 29, 1937 – February 22, 2024
Alice Mable Johns (Sparks) was born on September 29, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday February 22, 2024 at the age of 86 surrounded by her loved ones.
Alice moved to Texas at a young age where she met her husband Eugene "Red" Johns. Married on October 24, 1953, her and Red lived in Jarrell, Texas where they built their life and family together. Along with raising their 4 children, Alice helped run and operate their BBQ joint, Red's Pit BBQ and Action Septic and Drain Service, the latter serviced the Williamson County area for over 30 years. Upon Red's passing, Alice operated Action Septic and Drain Service with her two sons, Slick and Clayton, for 10 more years. She retired in 2020 and moved to Utah with her daughter, where she spent the rest of her years.
Alice enjoyed taking trips to casinos from Louisiana To Nevada, where she had quite a bit of luck. There was never a time she said no to pulling those arms or pushing those buttons. She enjoyed watching every Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns football game. She loved going on many adventures, Sunday drives, eating BBQ, and most importantly, she loved all of the time spent with her family through the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Warren and Jennie Sparks; her husband Eugene "Red" Johns; sons Charleston Delane Johns (Slick), Carlton Dewayne Johns (Corky), and a host of other beloved family members.
Alice is survived by her daughter Sharon Eugenia Porter, son Clayton Armfield Johns and wife Margaret Johns, and daughter-in-law Gay Matthews; grandchildren Sherry Steed, Michelle Lemon and husband Tony, Matthew Johns and wife Maria, Mark Johns and wife Jessica, Renee Knapek and husband Brendon; great-grandchildren Michael, Alice and husband Mitch, Julie Ann and husband Jackson, Amy, Tristan, Kristen and husband DeShawn, Brittany and husband Shaun, Maddox, Mason, Miles, Case, Olivia, and Taylor; great-great-grandchildren Sawyer, Anthony, Liam, and Harlem; sisters Stella Hinkle, Mary Neal, Barbara Watkins, Diane Walls, Oleta Floyd, Martha Broadway, Sherry Copeland, Sara Johns, Rosie Johns, brothers Jerry Sparks, Bill Johns, Rick Johns, and many nieces, and nephews.
