Alexander Tsemin, 89, of Georgetown, TX, passed away on August 19, 2026 in Georgetown, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday August 27, 2026 at Ramsey Funeral Home with Fr David Barr of St. Elias Orthodox Church officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery.

Alexander Tsemin was born in Rostov on Don, Russia to Antonina and Pavel Tsemin on January 20, 1937. From 1954 to 1957, he trained as an inland navigation cadet at the Rostov-on-Don navigation school, later graduating from the Gorky Institute of Water Transport Engineers. He worked as a merchant fleet captain (1971–2000) and concluded his career as Director of the Maritime Training Center, retiring in 2010.

Alexander Tsemin was awarded Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Order of Friendship of Peoples, numerous medals and badges of honor.

Alexander Tsemin is preceded in death by his wife Valentina Tsemina.

He is survived by daughter Svetlana and her husband Edib, grandson Nicolas and his wife Caitlin.

The family of Alexander Tsemin is deeply grateful to their friends and neighbors for all the love and support they showed Alexander throughout his 16 years in Texas.
