Obituary

The Lord received Kathleen Hooper, 73, of Georgetown into his arms after she passed away on August 11, 2018, following a long Illness.  She wrapped her arms around Him and provided one of Kathy's well known "bear" hug squeezes.

Kathleen was born on September 15, 1944, in Teaneck, New Jersey to Richard W. and Kathleen M. (Flatley) Strack. She grew up in Bogota, N.J. After graduating Bogota High School she went to work in Hackensack, N.J. where she met the love of her life, Paul whom she married on November 27, 1965, at St. Joseph's, R.C., Church with both her priest and his pastor participating in the ceremony.

Kathleen and Paul worked together on several occasions through the years, including several weather –related catastrophes when they lived in West Palm Beach, Fl. She retired after 40 years in the Insurance Industry as a Clerical Supervisor.

Kathleen and her husband moved to Georgetown in 2005. She became a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown and the Sertoma Club. She was especially known for her smile, friendly nature and firm "bear" hugs she would greet people with. Kathleen was very accomplished at sewing and her craft work adorns the walls of her home. In addition she was an avid sports fan, especially the Atlanta Braves and Miami Dolphins. Kathleen never met a stranger and greeted newcomers in her life by asking "What's your name?" She loved everyone she met.

Preceding Kathleen in death were her parents; brothers, Richard W. Strack, Jr. and Robert Strack; sister, Irene Steinhoff.

Survivors include: husband, Paul Hooper of Georgetown; brother-in-law David Hooper and sister-in-law, Martha Hooper, of Georgetown; sister-in-law, Alice Strack of Bensalem, PA; nephew, Peter Strack (Christine) of Redding, MA; niece, Ann Marie Sterner (Frank) of Langhorne, PA; niece and God child, Suzanne Hooper of Phoenix, AZ; nieces: Cynthia (Mike) Slachta of Glen Mills, PA, Jennifer (Bryan) Kash of West Chester, PA, Beth Ann Hooper of The Netherlands; sister-in-law, Marilyn Woolley, of Cranford, NJ; children of Martha Hooper: Sara Hufford of Austin; Warren Hufford and his wife Tammy of Georgetown, as well many grandnieces and nephews and her beloved dog Honey.
